When a child enters a preschool environment it is a very important step in his/her life. Since 1966, the purpose of Sisters Weekday Preschool Ministry has been to provide a quality preschool program in a Christian environment. Our staff shall strive, with God's guidance, to make each child's experience meaningful and happy.
Every child is unique and precious. Our philosophy reflects a child development concept known as "Total Child." We feel that each child has five aspects of his being which we touch. It is our objective to encourage the growth and development of each child as we seek to promote the following areas:
Spiritual Development
Develop an awareness of God and creation
Develop the ability to talk to God through song and prayer
Discover God's love and care for ME..."I Am Special!"
Learn that Jesus is God's Son and that Jesus is my Friend
Mental Development
Emotional Development
Physical Development
As a program designed to encourage the development of the total child we have study areas that include home and family, Bible, church, friends, self, nature, community life and holidays. In order to challenge each child in these areas we use the following learning centers: home living, books, puzzles and games, blocks, nature, art and music. Activities are designed to help each child learn to solve problems, to express himself, to improve language skills and to develop math and science concepts that will be valuable in later years.
We hope each child will discover ways that God has made him/her special. In order for us to be successful in helping your child develop in all areas, our staff and the child's family need to work together. It is important that good home-school relationships exist if children in our program are to have a rich and nourishing life in preschool and at home.
